Commission Work

Getting what you want

It’s important to me to make sure you are getting a painting that you will cherish forever. Communicating with clients, visiting the space where a painting will hang, and choosing the Best image to paint from are all a part of the commission process.

Feel free to contact me for a commission. Let’s have a conversation about what it is you want for your space, then we can go from there. I can work from an image you have taken or we can get ideas from several of my photographs. Paintings can be small or large, on wood or on canvas. I prefer to paint in oils, and paintings can take several weeks to dry. Depending on my availability, it can be a few months before receiving the painting, so please ask far ahead in advance!

You can email me at tessagracepaints@gmail.com for more information or to start a conversation about what kind of artwork you would like to purchase.

Here are a few commissions I have completed recently.

A client’s idea!

This client knew they wanted an oil painting, but also liked the idea of hanging the map of our coastal waterways. I found a way to combine both into a beautiful oil painting. This painting measures 36’ x 48”.

Dafuskie Island Painting

This client provided me with three photos from a recent family trip to Dafuskie Island and I blended all three to create a memory painting of her young children playing amongst the driftwood.

I also built and stained the large scale frame for the client so it was ready to hang right away in their new home.

Paintings for your family…

Greta and Thea in the Tidal Pools, Tessa Parker, 2019. Oil on canvas, 24” X 30”.

Painting and a Frame

This client wanted a painting of her parents at their favorite beach destination, but then also needed a custom frame to aid in the shipping process.

Working on a commissioned painting

The client provided me with the photograph that they took on a special trip and I painted it in oils on stretched canvas.
